Prince Harry's WellChild Awards

The star-studded fourth annual WellChild Awards took place on Monday 27 October 2008 with a host of well-known faces helping to celebrate the amazing achievements of the winners. WellChild's Royal Patron Prince Harry attended the event for the second year and met all of the winners before the ceremony began.

The WellChild Awards celebrates the bravery of children and young people coping with serious and complex illnesses and conditions - and also honours the dedicated doctors, nurses, teachers, brothers and sisters who go the extra mile to make a difference to the lives of sick children.

Nick Knowles attended the ceremony where he happily chatted and had photos taken with all of the deserving winners and their families before presenting awards to brave children seventeen-year-old Drew Wayment and eighteen-year-old Toni Bewley. Drew showed his tremendous courage when dealing with the intense treatment of a rare form of cancer, Ewings Sacroma while Toni has undergone a staggering 35 operations in an attempt to treat her complex conditions, including Spina Bifida and Lung Disease.
