About DIY SOS
DIY SOS: The Big Build is one of BBC One's most enduring and best-loved factual entertainment formats. Hosted by Nick Knowles for more than 20 years, each build sees local tradespeople, suppliers and an army of volunteers come together to renovate, extend or rebuild the home of a family facing serious illness, disability or hardship.
The show has tackled everything from full house rebuilds for injured veterans to ambitious community projects, with Nick at the centre - coordinating, mucking in, and giving the families a voice.
The new series of DIY SOS starts Tuesday 22nd September 2026 at 8pm on BBC One, bringing communities together for powerful new stories of transformation.
