Golden Years

In 2016 Nick Knowles co-wrote and executive produced Golden Years, a British caper comedy directed by John Miller. It follows a group of pensioners who set off on a tour of National Trust properties in a vintage caravan - and start robbing nearby banks along the way.

The ensemble cast includes Una Stubbs, Bernard Hill, Phil Davis and Virginia McKenna, telling a warm, defiant story about being written off in later life.

Golden Years marked Nick's move beyond presenting into writing and filmmaking - an extension of the storytelling instincts that run through all his television work.
