DIY SOS calling for tradesmen to help in Peterborough

“Popular BBC TV programme DIY SOS is coming to Peterborough to dramatically reopen a children’s play centre are appealing to local tradesmen to help out on the project.

The PT previously reported that ‘DIY SOS’ is to reopen the Spinney Centre in Hartwell Way, Ravensthorpe, which was one of eight children’s centres axed by Peterborough City Council earlier this yearas part of the local authority’s bid to cut £17 million from its budget.

Work is set to start on the project on September 17 for nine days, which will see the centre rebuilt so that Peterborough group Little Miracles, which runs sessions for disabled children, can move there.

The popular BBC programme sees presenter Nick Knowles and a team of workmen round up friends, family and local tradesmen to help transform homes and buildings across the country.

Bosses of the show are currently appealing for anyone interested in helping on the project to come forward and they have issued posters and put out messages on the social networking website twitter.”
